Week 37, 2020

Markets are closed on Monday, September 7 for Labor Day.

The pick for Tuesday is Lancaster Colony (LANC). We traded this old-fashioned food company earlier this year for a nice 2.4% return in 2 days. As mentioned before, they’ve raised dividends for the last five decades. The current yield is 1.6%.

Northrim BanCorp (NRIM), a holdover from Week 11, gets the mid-week slot. As we’ve seen with other regional banks, profits are down due to COVID, but they’re still profitable and haven’t moved into the loss column yet. The current yield is 5.2%.

United Bankshares (UBSI) is the Thursday pick. This Washington DC based regional bank has nice quarterly numbers and is one of only two banks in the US to pay dividends for 46 straight years. The current yield is 5.25%.

We’ll close out the week with Capital City Bank (CCBG). This Florida based regional bank has over $3 billion in assets and strong earnings. The current yield is 2.76%.
