Week 23, 2020 – First Week of June

We’ll kickoff this dividend week with Avangrid (AGR). This energy company has $34 billion in assets and operates in 24 states. They have a growing renewables portfolio that is largely responsible for year-over-year increases in profits. The current yield is 4.3%.

For Tuesday, June 2, we already own Israel Chemicals (ICL) from Week 10. We’re down about 6.5% on the position and the current yield is 2.7%.

Next up is Home Depot (HD). They took early and decisive action in setting up their stores to deal with the pandemic and raised paid time off and bonuses for employees. As a result they maintained strong sales and created a nice profit in the first quarter. The current yield is just under 2.5%.

American National Bankshares (AMNB), also still open from Week 10, goes ex-div again on Thursday. We’re down 20% on the position and the current yield is 4.27%.

To close out the week, we’ll go with Gladstone Investment (GAIN). They are a “private equity fund focused on acquiring mature, lower middle market companies with $20 to $100 million in revenue.” Gladstone posted a nice profit in the most recent quarter and the stock trades just under its Net Asset Value. The current yield is 7.6%.
